ActiveSupport Load Order Issue

Reported by jsgoecke | July 29th, 2010 @ 08:05 AM

Adhearsion uses ActiveSupport. Adhearsion's Ruby on Rails integration is loaded after ActiveSupport is loaded, so if you have installed a newer version of the ActiveSupport gem than your project uses, you'll get a weird error about Rails not being installed.

This presents a bit of an issue for us. We rely on the facilities of ActiveSupport whether or not Rails integration is configured. I could try to figure out how to ensure that Rails integration is loaded before ActiveSupport, but my preference would be to say "Use Bundler." Assuming we get Bundler ready in time for 0.8.5, would you consider that an acceptable workaround?
